We will explore available unique features like shadow boxing, picture framing, herringbone, beveled boxes, stadium staircases, and hidden fastening systems.
Choosing the Right Materials
Once the design is finalized, we help you choose the best materials for your project. Given Connecticut’s challenging weather, we emphasize durability and longevity in our material selection. Most decks are built with either a pressure-treated base or composite materials like Trex.
Preferred Materials:
We prefer to use kiln dried pressure-treated materials to ensure minimal warping and accurate lines and levels.
Unlike non-kiln-dried wood, which can warp, crack, and split over time, kiln-dried wood maintains its integrity for years. Our decking boards and railing systems can be made from a variety of materials, including:
- Composite Decking
- Hardwood
- PVC
- Pressure-Treated Wood
